We at Reynella Hyundai are committed to ensuring your safety on the road.
The recent Takata Airbag recall is extremely important as some airbags may have defective inflators.
Takata is a major manufacturer of vehicle airbags. Its airbags are used by a number of different vehicle manufacturers. It has been identified that some of its airbags may not deploy correctly in the event of an accident, due to a defective inflator; thereby increasing the risk of injury or possible death.
The airbag inflator may rupture, due to excessive internal pressure, during normal airbag deployment events. This condition is more likely to occur if the vehicle has been exposed to high levels of humidity and high temperatures for extended periods of time.
Should you find that your vehicle is on the recall list, then please contact your nearest manufacturer’s service centre to make arrangements to have your airbag replaced- at no additional charge.
Whether you purchased your vehicle new or used & you are unsure if your vehicle is affected, you can visit your vehicle’s manufacturer website for an online VIN check or contact them directly.
Alternatively you can visit the Takata airbag recalls list for the latest list of affected vehicles, last updated on 7/05/18.
